What do you get when you pair Wrexham AFC fans with a UFC legend and his new stout brand?
That’s the question that was asked and answered when Forged took its custom-designed Land Rover Defender filled with 1,000 pints of Conor McGregor’s Forged on tap to the iconic Turf Hotel in Wrexham earlier this month.
Having been inspired by the team’s extraordinary march to the EFL, the first ever UFC two-weight champion deployed a team to quench the thirst of celebratory fans ahead of their victory over Yeovil Town on the 18th April 2023 – making them the first punters outside of McGregor’s Dublin establishment to sample the Nitro Irish Stout.
In addition to donating all proceeds from the sale of the stout to the local Your Space autism charity, McGregor donated £10,000 from his Forged Irish Stout brand, to the cause which was presented to Wrexham star Paul Mullin who is a patron of the charity.
An additional £2,200 was raised from sales of the stout on the night which brought the total donations for Your Space Wales to £12,200.
So great to see @ForgedStout visit @Wrexham_AFC and The Turf Hotel to support the amazing @Your_Space123 foundation which raises awareness and support for Autism. Great day, great town, great cause! ❤️💙 pic.twitter.com/wLeY6VhEle

Outcomes
We, along with our Irish partners Splanc PR, deliberately pitched just ahead of the kick-off, sharing photos and videos of fans enjoying their first taste of Forged with key media.
Coverage landed almost immediately in UK and Irish outlets, across national, regional, sport, and trade media, including pieces from the BBC, Mirror, Express, TalkSport, The Sun, The Leader (Wrexham’s local paper), WalesOnline, Sky Sports, Daily Star, and Beer Today.
It was a strong start to our new role as one of Forged’s retained agencies (see news of the win here) and we’re excited for phase two!
