Digital PR: ‘Free childcare for smear tests’ for

We work with, the leading platform for all childcare providers, and much of what we do for them is creative PR. Our recent campaign ‘Free childcare for smear tests’ generated some fantastic PR campaign results.

What we did:

We do lots of creative PR for to build links from sites with a high Domain Authority and generate awareness of the brand to its target audience.

We wanted to create a campaign with that would be engaging and of interest to families, while doing something good.

There was widespread news about smear tests and that women being checked was at a 20 year low. The lull in the potentially life-saving tests had prompted a huge campaign by Public Health England.

We had seen a few independent childcare services offer free childcare to incentivise women to get their cervical screening tests – and we thought that was in a great position to roll this out nationwide. worked with its providers to offer an hour’s free childcare to give women the chance to get tested.

We packaged up the news story with a link to a page on’s website describing the initiative, and created a function on the platform that allows childcare providers to opt in for the free hour of childcare and display this offering on their profile.

We expected this story to do really well and we were right, it generated lots of great PR campaign results.
